This is intended to be an ad hoc review of movie dialog, both writing and delivery. These are lines, or exchanges, of dialog that I find stick with me, and contribute to my coming back to these films again and again. I don't mean to imply that these are films of equal merit: Apocalypse Now and Dr. Strangelove are, in my opinion, the two greatest films ever made, while Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, for example, is just delightful entertainment -- fun, but not art. This presentation is intended only as cinematic criticism (and is therefore fair use under copyright law).
These were all sampled in mono, 8 bits, 11kHz. For movies with a full Dolby surround soundtrack, the sample was recorded from the front center surround channel. These are all .wav files -- for each, I've provided the length in seconds and the size of the .wav file.
